Even with the same lampshade, the ideal cord length will vary depending on the ceiling height and the room's purpose. In this article, we’ll introduce how to select pendant lightings from AXCIS JAPAN tailored to different spaces. 

The average ceiling height in Vietnam is around 3m (300cm) or more, which is quite higher than the standard 2.4-m (240cm) ceiling height in typical Japanese apartments.  Axcis’ pendant cords can reach a total length of 200cm, allowing you to adjust them to shorter lengths like 80cm, 100cm, or 150cm making them adaptable to various spaces. 

Types of Pendant Cords 

Axcis’ cords currently come in 2 types: the 3-point fixed type and the clip type to secure the lampshade, which can fit with almost all the designs for our products. The cord is compatible with E14-sized bulbs. 

Pendant Lightings for the Entrance 

The entrance is the first impression for your guests and the "presence" of your home. Naturally, you’d want a pendant light that stands out. However, if the cord is too long, it can make the space feel cramped, while a cord is too short, it won’t give the lighting enough presence. For ceilings around 3m (300m) high, a 80cm or 110cm cord length is ideal. 

Pendant Lightings for the Bathroom 

Choosing the lighting for the bathroom is similar to choosing them for the entrance. Since the space is smaller with a lower ceiling, a 80cm or 110cm pendant lighting or even wall-mounted lightings work well. In this enclosed space, you can choose for lightings with raised patterns on glass surfaces to create shimmering effects or use tinted glass shades for added privacy. 

Pendant Lightings for the Kitchen 

For kitchen island, aligning multiple small pendant lightings in a row is a popular choice. This setup minimizes shadows on the countertop and ensures visual balance. A 110cm cord length is ideal for highlighting pendant lights, but if the ceiling is low or if larger pendants are used, a 80cm cord might be more practical. 

Pendant Lightings for the Dining Room 

When installing pendant lighting over the dining table, consider how the light falls directly onto the table. Cutting the cord length to 150cm and position the lighting about 60-70cm above the table to prevent glare and avoid head bumping. Recently, installing lightings at lower positions has become trendy, so you could also consider using the original length 200cm cord to match this style.
